How to get more visitors to your site by using an email signature

People ask me how can they promote their websites. How can they get visitors to come and take a look?

Here is one way that works for me. It works for others and it should work for you too.

Email signatures

They are free to use and have produced many responses for me. I include the "sig" (as people call it) on most of my outgoing emails, including replies.

When I don't want to include it, I just select the text from the email and simply delete it -- takes 2 seconds, that's all.

Here's how to add a signature to your Outlook Express emails.

But first here is an example of the actual wording that I am using currently, though I do change it from time to time. It might be a bit long, but my trouble is... I don't know which bit to leave out... so I leave it all in.

How to add a signature to your Outlook Express emails

If you're not sure how to load this into your email program, I can help - if you're using Microsoft Outlook Express.

Here we go...

Open Outlook Express.
Click on Tools.
Click on Options.
Click on the Signatures tab at the top.
Tick the top box ("Add signatures to all outgoing messages").

Now you need to choose whether to use a shorter sig or a longer one. Let's choose shorter for now.

Simply click the button labelled Text, then type in your signature.
Then click OK to save your work.

Now click "Create Mail" and bingo, there's your signature.

Look it over carefully to be sure that it looks nice and that there are NO spelling errors.

If you want to change it, open the Signatures tab again, change the text in the Text box, click OK again and take another look.

TEST THE LINKS.

Click all your links to see that they work. I always prefer to start my links with http:// -- rather than just www. But it probably makes little difference.
