Marketing strategies: how to market ebooks?

Marketing is a big topic indeed. And there are many ways for you to promote ebooks. What we do at Tom Hua's eBookWholesaler.com is provide one or two packages every month. Each package contains an ebook and a sales website along with a short email-ready advertisement / announcement. Plus there's material on how to build your business inside the Members Area.

One of the ebooks in the StartPack will teach you how to market ebooks. Another is all about classified ads. You get them both free when you join. So may I suggest you take another look at all the goodies we offer, and see them as a source of education as well as being income-generators.

Peter asked whether you'd need a different website for each ebook. The good news is that there are many ways to do it, including...

• Some resellers put all of their ebooks on the one site, with a front page that includes a selection of links (with or without graphics): that works.
• Others set up separate domains (ie, separate websites) for some of the more popular ebooks: that works.
• Others will use subdomains in a similar way (a subdomain is like a folder or directory inside your main site, eg. ebook1.mysite.com and ebook2.mysite.com etc): this works too.
• Others promote through the search engines: that works too. If you're using the PPCs (pay per click engines) you need to know what you're doing as far as setting the price you pay for clicks. eBookWholesaler will give you a free copy of Search Engine Commando when you join.
• A standard way is through your own mailing list or in joint venture (JVs) with other ezine publishers: these work too.

So the choice is wide open to you. Some of the most popular/effective AD STRATEGIES are:

• Ezine ads. Many ezine owners offer new subscribers free ads. And you can always buy ezine ads. Targeted ezine advertising is often described as the best advertising on the Internet, so people hear about your newsletter.

• Your own mailing list. It's important to begin collecting opt-in names and email addresses... they are the seed of your future online income. Over time, of course, you should aim to build a relationship of trust with your readers/customers. Deliver customer service to your readers, tell the truth and they will value that. This takes time but provides a sound base for an ongoing business. How to build your own mailing list is a big subject that is regularly addressed in lots of ezines. Here's my short list of helpful ezines.
  
  
• Pay per click advertising through the search engines. One of the ebooks you get when you join, Search Engine Commando, explains how to maximise your results.
  
  
• Free search engine listings. Here are links to submit to all the major free search engines.
  
  
• Use popups and popunders on your website/s.

Marketing tools: do you provide any?

Indeed we do! We supply banners, text ads, email scripts, images. There's also a searchable database of information, and a Members Forum where you can ask any questions you like and get answers from the Moderator and/or from the members.

Master resale rights: do you supply them?

No, eBookWholesaler.com provides its members with resale rights but not master resale rights. What's the difference? Resale rights allows you to resell the products and keep all the income. Master resale (or reprint) rights are much more expensive and enable whoever buys them to resell the resell rights.

Members Area: what’s in it?

Inside our Member's Area at eBookWholesaler.com, you'll find a lot of help including a step by step list of instructions on everything from downloading our ebooks to your computer, to uploading the files to whatever server you are using (as you know, websites have to "live somewhere": and they live on your web host's server).
